Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science has registered 1248 invitations for study in higher education institutions of Ukraine for citizens of the People’s Republic of China. This was announced by the director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science Olena Shapovalova.
“58 of them were given the opportunity to obtain higher education in Ukraine in 2020 as scholarship holders in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Some of them are already arriving in Ukraine today” – clarifies Olena Shapovalova.
According to Olena Shapovalova, Ukraine annually provides almost 1000 scholarships for foreigners to study under intergovernmental agreements. These scholarships are awarded on a parity basis, so Ukrainian students can also study abroad at the expense of another country’s budget.
The first scholarship students who passed the competitive selection and received study grants arrived in Kyiv today, November 30, 2020.
These future students from China will be studying at the following universities:
• Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv;
• Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture;
• Ivan Franko Lviv National University;
• National Pedagogical Dragomanov University.
Among the specialties chosen by the students are philology and geography.
Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science hopes that the new students from China will enjoy studying in Ukraine, and that this will significantly deepen further Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education.
We would also like to remind that “Study in Ukraine” held a flash mob for the International Student Day, in which foreign students spoke about their experience of studying in Ukrainian universities (https://studyinukraine.gov.ua/flashmob/).
