A meeting with the representatives of the Embassy of Ghana in Switzerland

On the 29th of October, 2018 Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education, Olena Shapovalova held a meeting with the representatives of the Embassy of Ghana in Switzerland. During this meeting questions concerning the peculiarities of enrollment of Ghanaians to study in Ukrainian Universities were discussed.

We understand that in order to study Biological and Medical sciences Ghanaian students should have in their secondary school certificates the following subjects: Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry.

 

 

WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) SSSCE (Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination) GBCE (General Business Certificate Examination)
A1-C6 A-D A-D

 

For other disciplines the minimum requirement is as follow:

English – D6

Maths (core) – D7

Integrated Science/Core Science – D7

All other elective subjects – minimum – D7.

All applicants must have passed at least six (6) subjects including Mathematics and English. There is no such subject in Ghanaian Secondary Educational System as Social Sciences. Irrespective of the total number of points, the grade E8 is not considered to be a pass.

 

 

Working visit to China

Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova  together with  Yana Razumovska, representative of the Center, came to China with an official visit for 16th-22th of October 2018. The purpose of the visit was for the Ukrainian State Center for International Education to participate in the 19th International Higher Education Conference «China Education Expo 2018» together with Poltava National Technical Yuri Kondratyuk University, Ternopil National Economic University, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and Private Higher Educational Establishment “Kyiv Medical University”.

A meeting with the leadership of the China Scholarship Council, as well as visits to the Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Center of Ukrainian Culture were held.

Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation held a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China Mr. Oleg Dyomin.

Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova  told more about the Ukrainian State Center for International Education and peculiarities of higher education in Ukraine during the meeting with the director of international affairs of Chinese edition «Studying abroad» .

Chinese representatives have shown their interest in developing a relationship between Ukrainian and Chinese Universities, where priorities are technical, linguistic and art specialities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Working visit to Malaysia

Director of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education Olena Shapovalova and Deputy Director Olena Sulyma came to Malaysia with an official visit for 8th-11th of October 2018. Ukrainian delegation took part in the 6th global higher education forum “Thriving for Knowledge, Industry and Humanity in Dynamic Higher Education Ecosystem”.

During their stay in Malaysia, Ukrainian delegation and representatives of Ukrainian Embassy in Malaysia held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Education of Malaysia Teo Nie Ching, Executive Director of Malaysian Qualifications Agency Dr. Rahman binti Mohamed, Deputy Director of the Department of Skills Development in the Ministry of Human Resources of Malaysia Zaihan bin Shukri and Deputy President of Kuala-Lumpur University Dr. Azanam Shah Hashim, visited the Center for development of advanced technologies.
Questions regarding the current and future states of Ukrainian-Malaysian cooperation in higher education were discussed during the meetings.

As a result of the visit, it can be stated that the Malaysian side is interested in cooperation with Ukraine on governmental level, as well as between educational institutions of both countries.
