Meeting of “Study in Ukraine” specialists with Deputy Ministers of Education and Science of Tajikistan

Specialists of the Ukrainian State Center for International Education met with colleagues from the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan. The meeting took place during the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and heads of higher education institutions lead by Minister Serhiy Shkarlet to the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

During the meeting, Deputy Director of “Study in Ukraine” Olga Boyko and Head of the International Cooperation Department of “Study in Ukraine” Valentina Shulga, together with Deputy Ministers of Education and Science of Tajikistan Kodiroza Dilovar Bahridin and Sobtroza Nurali Mirali discussed important issues of educational cooperation.

 

In particular, they spoke about the prospects of increasing quotas for study in Ukraine for Tajik students, strengthening the cooperation between higher education institutions, opportunities for Ukrainian students to study in Tajik HEIs in philological specialties.

 

Deputy Ministers of Education and Science of Tajikistan stressed the importance of holding the exhibition-fair “Study in Ukraine”, which is being held in the country for the first time this year.

Development of interuniversity cooperation between Ukrainian and Tajik HEIs

During the second day of the Ukrainian educational delegation in the Republic of Tajikistan, educators worked on building interuniversity cooperation between the two countries.

 

On the basis of Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinsho Shotemur, cooperation agreements were signed with Ukrainian higher education institutions: Bohdan Khmelnytskyy National University of Cherkasy, Sumy State University, Sumy National Agrarian University, Interregional Academy of Personnel Management. The parties also discussed future joint cooperation programs.

 

In addition, Tajik educators and officials had the opportunity to listen to lectures prepared by Ukrainian scholars.

 

During the meeting of the Academic Council of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after Sadriddin Aini, representatives of Ukrainian HEIs presented the educational opportunities of domestic universities. At the end of the meeting, a memorandum was signed with the National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University, Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, A.Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University.

 

Such events are aimed at developing ties between the universities of both countries and open up additional opportunities for cooperation.

Meeting of the Ministers of Education and Science of Ukraine and Tajikistan

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet had a meeting with the Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Mukhammadyusuf Imomzoda. The meeting took place during the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and heads of higher education institutions to the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

“For the first time in the history of Ukrainian-Tajik relations, the educational forum “Study in Ukraine” is being held in the capital of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. Its purpose is to promote opportunities for higher education in Ukraine for foreign students, in accordance with the Order of the President of Ukraine. I am convinced that such a forum will help expand opportunities for the development of cooperation in the field of education between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan” – noted Serhiy Shkarlet in his Telegram channel.

 

The parties discussed matters of cooperation, in particular – expanding opportunities for students from Tajikistan to study in Ukrainian higher education institutions.

 

Skergiy Shkarlet also mentioned that work is underway to develop and implement a unified interdepartmental electronic platform for the enrolment of foreign students in Ukrainian higher education institutions. The legal framework for the operation of this platform is currently being developed.

 

In addition, the forum will include a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the President of the Academy of Sciences Farhod Rahimov.

“Study in Ukraine” signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan

Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Center for International Programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan have signed a Cooperation Agreement.

 

The Agreement outlines the development of cooperation between the parties in the field of training highly qualified specialists.

 

Thus, as of January 1, 2021, 134 citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan are studying in higher education institutions of Ukraine, and last year 36 invitations for study were registered.

 

The Agreement provides for the promotion of various forms of cooperation between institutions, which will be specified in subsequent documents.

Meeting of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine with graduates of Ukrainian HEI’s in Tajikistan

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet had a meeting with more than 150 graduates of Ukrainian higher education institutions, who currently lead various governmental bodies in Tajikistan.

 

The meeting is part of the educational forum “Study in Ukraine” that is taking place in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe.

 

“Ukraine has significant educational and scientific research experience and traditions, Ukrainian universities have sufficient potential to provide quality higher education while taking into account the requirements of the modern labor market and scientific research conduct” – underlined the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet.

 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan Vasyl Servatiuk introduced the participants and thanked them for taking part in the meeting.

 

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Head of State Aviation, the Deputy Minister of Health, the Head of the Customs Institute are all graduates of Ukrainian higher education institutions. In Ukraine they received a good education, which gave them the opportunity to realize themselves in their own country” – noted Vasyl Servatiuk.

 

During their speeches, graduates remembered their studies in Ukraine with gratitude and warmth and provided suggestions for improving the mechanisms of cooperation.

 

Near the end, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet congratulated and awarded the graduates with diplomas.

Opening of the educational forum “Study in Ukraine”, held in Tajikistan

On March 30, in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, the educational forum “Study in Ukraine” organized by the State Enterprise “Ukrainian State Center for International Education” of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has begun.

 

The event is part of the visit of the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet with an educational delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan, taking place from March 30 to April 1, 2021.

 

The forum is attended by the Ministers of Education and Science of both countries, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of more than 40 higher education institutions of Ukraine.

 

Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet noted that holding such large-scale events will open opportunities for cooperation between Ukraine and Tajikistan in the field of education.

 

During the forum there will be an exhibition-fair “Study in Ukraine”, where Ukrainian higher education institutions are going to present educational opportunities of Ukraine to students of Tajikistan.

 



Ukrainian delegation of educators and scientists arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan

Today the delegation of educators and scientists lead by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet arrived in the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

During the visit, from March 29 to April 2, 2021, a number of events aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and science will take place.

 

State Enterprise “Ukrainian State Center for International Education” presented statistical data on the education of citizens of Tajikistan in Ukraine. Thus, as of January 1, 2021, 134 citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan are studying in higher education institutions of Ukraine.

 

Among the specialties chosen by the students from Tajikistan, the most popular ones are:

  • air transport;
  • medical practice;
  • dentistry;
  • telecommunications and radio engineering;
  • nursing.

 

During the first day, the Ukrainian delegation visited the Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinsho Shotemur, where the “Study in Ukraine” exhibition-fair is going to take place. More than 40 Ukrainian higher education institutions will take part in the exhibition.

 

“Study in Ukraine” specialists also met with representatives of the “Center for International Programs” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and discussed the terms of signing a memorandum on cooperation.

 

Visit of educators and scientists lead by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet to the Republic of Tajikistan

From March 29 to April 2, 2021, educators and scientists lead by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet will be paying a visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

State Enterprise “Ukrainian State Center for International Education” will also be a participant of the Ukrainian educational delegation. In total, more than 80 heads of educational institutions, leading educators, scientists, and business representatives will be representing Ukraine in Tajikistan.

 

The event will be held in accordance with the Order of the President of Ukraine №210/2020 “On the Improvement of Higher Education in Ukraine”, in particular, in order to promote opportunities for higher education in Ukraine for foreign students.

 

The program of the visit includes:

 

  • – Forum of Rectors of higher education institutions of Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • – Forum of graduates of Ukrainian higher education institutions who are citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan;
  • – Educational exhibition “Study in Ukraine” for Tajikistan’s youth.

 

“Study in Ukraine” will use its informational resources to cover key parts of the event aimed at developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of higher education.


Ukraine will begin issuing biometric visas to foreigners

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law that provides for the provision of biometric data by foreigners applying for a Ukrainian visa. This was reported on the website of the President’s Office.

 

The document aims to improve visa procedures and introduce biometric Ukrainian visas for foreigners and stateless persons.

 

In particular, according to the law, foreigners and stateless persons are obligated to submit their biometric data during the visa application in accordance with the procedure established by the Cabinet of Ministers, unless otherwise provided by law.

 

Failure of a foreigner to submit their biometric data is defined as an additional ground for denying them a Ukrainian visa.

 

The law is adopted a day after its publication and enters into force 6 months after it is adopted.

 

Perception of Ukraine abroad: study presentation

The Ukrainian Institute is launching a series of public presentations and discussions on the results of a series of studies of Ukraine’s perception abroad. Presentation of the results of research on the perception of Ukraine in three countries – the United States, Japan and Turkey will take place on March 24, 2021.

 

The event will take place online on the website of the Ukrainian Institute in Ukrainian with simultaneous translation into English:

 

12:30 – 13:30 Perception of Ukraine Abroad: project presentation

13:30 – 14:45 Perception of Ukraine in Japan

15:00 – 16:00 Perception of Ukraine in Turkey

16:30 – 17:30 Perception of Ukraine in the United States

 

Analysts who conducted the research, as well as specialists-diplomats will discuss opportunities and prospects for bilateral cooperation in the fields of culture, education, science and civil society in the respective countries.

 

In total, the study covered 7 countries – France, Germany, Poland, USA, Japan, Turkey and Hungary. The results reveal the attitude and level of knowledge about Ukraine and Ukrainian culture in each of the countries.

 

The research was conducted in 2020 by the Ukrainian Institute together with the International Renaissance Foundation. Research executors: analytical center Foreign Policy Council “Ukrainian Prism” and research company InMind.
