Founded in 1841,in Kyiv, Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU) is a leading medical educational institution in Ukraine. The Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) is a fully government multistructural educational institution providing educational programmes of different levels. Founded in 1944, it is Ukraine’s one of the most comprehensive research university, with 6 faculties, Educational and Scientific Institute of Postgraduate Education, 4 colleges, 49 departments and more than 30 clinical bases. Dnipro State Medical University is a center of education, science and culture in highly-developed industrial Dnipro region. University was based on the 15th of September 1916. Donetsk National Medical University was established in 1930 . Due to the quality of training and comparatively low tuition fees DonNMU is an attractive Ukrainian Medical Universities for foreigners. Founded in 1805, Kharkiv National Medical University is one of the leaders of the development and introduction of new medical education technologies in Ukraine. Dnipro Medical Institute of Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DMI TNM) started its’ activity in 1993. In 1999, TNM DMI was first accredited as a whole under the third level of accreditation of higher education institutions (upon the Order of the State Accreditation Commission of Ukraine dated December 21, 1999, protocol No. 24). In 2000 the Institute was awarded the Diploma of Ranking of higher education institutions of Ukraine. There are 8 Institutes (the Military Academy, the High Technology Centre, the Institute of Journalism, the Institute of Geology, the Institute of International Relations, the Postgraduate Education Centre, the Institute of Linguistics, and the State Security Department) and 1 Training and Research Center (the Institute of Biology), 2 Colleges (Optical and Mechanical College, Geological Exploring College), Ukrainian Physical and Mathematical Lyceum. Kyiv University has a number of other facilities, including: a Ukrainian Studies Centre, a Geological and Zoological Museum, a Museum of the University History, an Interfaculty Museum of Linguistics, an Informatics Centre, an Astronomical Observatory, a publishing and reprographics unit called "Kyiv University", and the Maksymovych Academic Library. Today the University has bilateral partnership agreements with 300 foreign educational and scientific institutions from 57 countries. 180 foreign academics and lecturers from 32 countries visit the University annually to collaborate in research, attending conferences, and giving lectures. Each year more than 1500 lecturers, researchers and students travel abroad to 59 countries. Two-thirds of those take overseas trips in 2013 travelled abroad for academic purposes (conferences, training, and research). The University of Kyiv has become more proactive in the foreign citizens recruitment process. At present, the number of foreign students enrolled at the University is 1534. The Filatov Institute of Eye Diseases and Tissue Therapy of The National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine
The Fialtov Institute of the Tissue Therapy of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine was esteblished by an outstanding scientist-ophthalmologist academician Vladimir Petrovich Filatov on the fourth of April 1936. Since the day of its creation and so far the Filatov Institute has been one of the leaders of the world medical science and practical medicine.

The South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky
South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky was established on 2 May, 1817. On 13 July, 2009, by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 538, South Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky was assigned the status of a national university and was given its present name. Currently, the University is a flagship teachers training university of the southern region of Ukraine with 17 acknowledged scholar schools, 62 specialties for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral training programmes at 10 faculties, 4 divisions and one institute. Within the period of its existence, more than 100,000 students have graduated from the University.The University is well-known far beyond the country; it collaborates with educational and research institutions of various countries. There is International Distance Learning Centre, which is the only one in the south of Ukraine; educational research, information and cultural centres of Israel, Turkey, the USA, Lithuania, People’s Republic of China (Confucius Institute). Lecturers and students participate in more than 30 international projects. The State Institution “Institute of neurosurgery n. acad. A. Romodanov NAMS of Ukraine” is the leading institution in Ukraine in the specialty of neurosurgery. In terms of scientific and educational activity, the institute provides clinical residency, a graduate school and information and training courses. There is a teaching staff of 3 academics, 2 assistant academics, 15 professors, 34 doctors and 77 PhDs.It specialises in maintaining the current standard and improving the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the central and peripheral nervous system, cardiovascular diseases, stroke, tumors, traumatic lesions, the effects of inflammation and abnormalities of the brain and spinal cord, pain syndromes, lesions of cranial and peripheral nerves and cerebral palsy.It is also a leading scientific research centre for the improvement of existing methods and development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system, including:• diagnostic, surgical and combined treatment of tumours of the brain and spinal cord and the study of their molecular genetic features;• pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of central and and peripheral nervous system injury and its consequences;• surgical treatment of vascular pathology of the brain;• functional and restorative neurosurgery;• surgical treatment of spinal injuries, spinal cord and its roots;• treatment of chronic pain syndromes;;• treatment of nervous system defects and hydrocephalus in children;• rehabilitation of neurosurgical patients; • surgical and combined treatment of epilepsy resistant to standard treatments, and Parkinson's disease;• study the mechanisms and effectiveness of the embryonic nervous tissue, neurogenic and mesenchymal stem cells in the experiment in the pathology of the nervous system;• neuroimmunology; and• radiosurgery.

V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is one of the oldest public HEIs in Eastern Europe, with a 220-year history. Today, the University has one of the largest university campuses in Ukraine with 23 Schools and Educational and Research Institutes that train specialists in over 200 majors, covering the whole range of modern classic university education. Before the war waged by russia against Ukraine, Karazin University had over 20000 students, 4000 of them were international students from 50 countries. About 440 full professors, over 1300 associate professors and PhD students work in KKNU. According to the QS World University Rankings 2025 Karazin University was positioned 741–750 on a global scale and retained the second place among Ukrainian higher education institutions. Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, Karazin University has not been displaced and continues all its activities still being based in Kharkiv with university administration and all departments working from Kharkiv.

Zaporizhzhia State Medical University
The main activity of the University is the providing higher medical education for Specialist’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, as well as postgraduate training in internship, mastership, postgraduate study courses for physicians and pharmacists. The history of Zaporizhia State Medical University comes back to the Women Pedagogical Courses organized in Odessa in 1903. In 1959 the Pharmaceutical Institute was transferred from Odessa to Zaporizhia and renamed in Zaporizhia Pharmaceutical Institute. In 1968 the institution became Zaporizhia State Medical University.
