The rules for crossing the state border of Ukraine have been changed for foreigners and stateless persons

To enter Ukraine, foreign citizens and stateless persons will only need to present a certificate of receipt of a single dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

The Cabinet of Ministers has allowed foreigners and stateless persons who hold an international COVID vaccination certificate that proves vaccination with one or more doses of WHO-approved vaccines or who have recovered from COVID-19, to not undergo self-isolation after crossing the state border of Ukraine.
The relevant decision was made at a government meeting on August 18, 2021.

As before, foreign citizens and stateless persons may also enter Ukraine and not go into self-isolation if they have a negative COVID-19 PCR test or a negative coronavirus antigen test performed within 3 days after crossing the state border.

As we reported earlier, on August 5, in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the rules of crossing the border and entry-exit checkpoints have changed.

In particular, foreigners, with the exception of certain categories, still need to have a COVID-19 insurance policy (certificate) valid for the entire period of their stay in Ukraine, a negative PCR result or rapid test for COVID-19, which was conducted no more than 72 hours before crossing the state border.

Also, in order to avoid self-isolation for foreigners, a document was required confirming the receipt of a full course of vaccination from COVID-19 with vaccines included in the WHO list.

However, please note that stricter rules on self-isolation continue to apply to all persons, regardless of citizenship, who came from Russia or India and have been in these countries for more than 7 days in the last two weeks.

In particular, they will have a mandatory 14-day self-isolation, which begins from the moment of crossing the state border without the right to its early completion.
